BulgNR is shifting to web conference

Dear colleagues,

Due to the pandemic situation, the BulgNR conference will take place exclusively online as anncounced so far 10th-12th November 2020. There will be no attended sessions in Sofia. We are convinced that our live discussions in the virtual space are going to be fully active and fruitful for knowledge and experience exchange on key research subjects!

Fourth circular letter

Dear colleagues,

in prompt response to multiple queries and concerns of the participants about tense timetable to prepare video contributions, the Organizing Committee decided to reschedule Bulgarian Numismatic Readings to

10th-12th November 2020.

In times of Covid-19 pandemic in Europe and political uncertainty in Bulgaria as well as potential difficulties to access host institution halls, the digital format of the Readings provides an appropriate platform to overcome various challenges facing our forum.

The Organizing Committee is convinced the extended timetable will enable the participants to prepare video records of their contributions prior to 20th October

In the coming weeks you will be contacted by your individual coordinator concerning technical matters.

If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

Third Circular letter

Dear colleagues,

We hope our third circular letter finds you well!

The Bulgarian Numismatic Readings team continues the preparations for the conference “History and Society in Numismatic Perspectives”.

At present, we have received applications from colleagues from more than 10 countries. We would like to thank you all for the high interest towards the conference making this scientific forum possible!

With respect to the current uncertain situation worldwide, the Organizing committee is aware of possible changes in the conference performance and shifting to a hybrid online event. For this purpose, and to allow all the registered colleagues who would be able or not to attend the conference in person to participate actively despite of the local time differences, we would like to ask you to create a video record of your presentation. The duration of the record should not exceed 15 minutes. We will follow up with more information about technical details for its preparation, also available soon on our newly created website:

https://www.bg-numismatic-readings.com

The Organizing team offers also live support to make the recording process easy and enjoyable!

Please send us your video record at the conference mail bg.numismatic.readings@gmail.com not later than 20th September 2020.

The video records will be uploaded in a controlled environment in the conference YouTube channel, according to the conference program, which is in preparation.  They will be available to the all registered attendees of the conference after 5th October, during the original dates of the conference, and on-demand after the conference concludes.

During the conference dates 9th-11th October 2020, we will have LIVE online key lectures, round tables, and discussions. They will be accessible by a stable virtual room for the event with controlled access for presenters and registered participants. Thus, all the participants – attending the conference in person in Sofia or connected remotely – will have the chance to be fully active and enjoy our common meeting.

Due to the pandemic situation, at this point we are not able to suggest making travel reservations or accommodation bookings. In case the situation in early October 2020 allows it, we would of course support logistically the colleagues that will be able to travel, and suggest an uncomplicated short-term hotel booking. We believe that despite the hard times, only together we will be able to maintain our scholar community and continue our research!
